Laurie's baby shower & Easter

My mom and I threw a baby shower for my sister-in-law Laurie in April just a few weeks before Virginia was born.

I had a lot of fun centering it around the "She's About to Pop!" theme

I had so much fun making this motorcycle diaper cake!

And this name sign for the baby nursery

It was kind of silly but I came up with an idea for a "pop-themed" game-- I filled the balloons with candy, and we had people write their guesses of the date and time when Laurie would give birth.  Then we threw darts at them to make them pop.

Playing the dart game

Another silly game we played was to see who could spit out a baby binky the farthest

The next day was Easter

Trip to Albuquerque & Baby Virginia!

This was the week of nieces!!

On Monday morning while I drove Chris to work we both received texts from my brother Nate that he and his wife Laurie were at the hospital.  Laurie had been in labor since the night before and it looked like little Virginia would be making her arrival that day.  I had a flight scheduled that afternoon to go to Albuquerque to visit my sister Mikey and my niece Mia.  Terrible timing!

As my plane took off I was able to look down into American Fork and i could actually see the hospital where they were.  I was so excited to be going to see Mia, but also bummed that I wouldn't be able to see Virginia as a brand newborn.

Virginia Kaye Page was born just as my flight landed in Albuquerque.

Even though I was sad I wasn't able to see Virginia in the hospital, I had a blast spending a week with Mikey and Mia!

We spent a day in Santa Fe

On Friday I flew home and met Virginia for the first time!

Moving

Align Center
Chris was offered a job at Merit Medical the Friday before the 4th of July. He gave his two weeks notice to Bard where he had been interning for the past year, and started at Merit two weeks later.
We packed up and moved out of our apartment the end of July and moved in with my parents for a week and a half until our new apartment in West Jordan opened up.
The weekend before Chris started at Merit my older brother Nate got married. We lived out of suitcases and boxes for a few weeks.
It was a whirlwind! But we are very excited and grateful for this new opportunity.

Moving out of our first apartment

All empty

Moving day from my parents house into our new apartment

Dinner the first night in our new place. Of course the first thing Chris unpacked and set up was his new TV.

Chris has been longing and pleading for a TV ever since we got married. I made a deal with him last year that when he got a real "grown-up" job, the first big purchase we would make would be a new TV.
The night Chris recieved his job offer, he was on the computer looking up which TV he wanted.

Enjoying his prize

Summer fun

Our summer flew by! I worked long hours all summer at The Adoption Center and Chris was very busy with track and applying for jobs. All that hard work paid off though!
In July Chris was offered and accepted a position as a Product Manager for Merit Medical in the Endotek division in South Jordan, Utah.

We celebrated his new job offer at our new favorite place to eat: La Jolla Groves.

Some other fun things we did this summer:

We went and saw the Manti Pageant with our good friends TJ and Krista
Of course spending time at the track

One night right before we moved he headed up to the Y Parking Lot to watch a big lightning and thunder storm with a cooler full of otter pops.
