St Patty's and San Diego Weekend

Last weekend the Outdoor track season officially began. Chris excitedly welcomed the outdoor season by frolicking in the waves and playing football on the beach in San Diego with all his pole vault buddies.

Because they left Thursday morning, sadly the only St. Patrick's festivities I was able to slip in was a green breakfast: scrambled eggs with broccoli, topped with avocado and surrounded by cucumber. (I forgot to pick up food coloring, so I had to make do with all the green food I could find in the fridge). Oh and I made some Irish Creme hot chocolate too.

As far as pole vaulting, not a great weekend. Chris no-heighted and same with most of the BYU guys. But he said he had fun playing at the beach, and hey that's what counts right? ;)
All of them spiked their hair for some reason

A definite highlight for Chris was visiting The Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista where Coach Poole gave them a tour. Now Chris just needs to jump B Standard- 5.50m (18 feet) and then after graduating from BYU he could start training there part time.

As for me back on the home front, I kept busy with some of my latest projects (spray paint= my new best friend!) If I like how they turn out, I might be brave enough to post some pictures.

Indoor Nationals in Texas

Super pants!

At the Banquet with all the vaulters and coach (and I'm just the wanna-be vaulter)

BYU Men's Distance Medley Relay National Champs!
(and Miles was also the Mens Mile Champ!!)

With Papa Little

Miles after winning the mile
(with his name, it was meant to be!)

The BYU men's team took 3rd overall!

On their way home on their chartered flight.

I was pretty jealous that they got to leave Saturday night and fly straight from College Station into the Provo airport, until I took two bumps the next day in the Houston airport and got $800 in flight vouchers! Looks like I'll be tagging along on a few more track trips this year!

Valentine's

Chris took me on a "romantic" scooter ride. Actually, the ride only lasted about 5 mintues, we both were freezing!
I loved this! Chris made me this little rose out of rose petals, a push-pin and a stick he found outside.

MMM, heart-shaped greasy pepperoni pizza. Doesn't get better than that!

On Our Way to Nationals!

Well it's high time I blogged again. This week we are off to Indoor Nationals in College Station, Texas.
(This is from Outdoor Nationals last year in Eugue, Oregon)

These are the national rankings going in:

(sorry you might need to click on it to open and see it)

I haven't been very good at documenting this season. After our New York trip Chris went to Air Force and jumped 5.42 which is a new personal best!

Two weeks ago was Indoor Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In the polevault BYU went 1,2, and 4 with Victor, Chris, and TJ.

As far as the other areas in our life we have been caught up in all the Jimmermania, are searching for jobs after Chris graduates and looking forward to moving and starting a new chapter in our life, I have gotten back into running and training, and we have been surviving without a fridge/freezer. That has led to some very interesting meals we've been eating.

Last Tuesday we celebrated mom and dad's birthday (yes they were born on the same day and are only a few hours apart) with a delicious dinner! We had grilled tilapia with mango salsa, carribean black beans, and strawberry daiquiris. Unfortunately, we all forgot to take pictures of the party, but we did get a picture of some of the food.
